Recipe Box

I joined a swap on Two Peas in a Bucket for a recipe box. If any of you have done any recipe card swaps, you know that the recipe cards almost all the time are 6x6 inches. Storing them can be somewhat troublesome. Standard recipe boxes won't fit the cards, shoe boxes aren't that sturdy, and what fun is storing all those beautiful cards in a 6x6 mini album. I couldn't find a 6x6 box to alter so I made my own from heavy duty chipboard and acrylic. My partners kitchen is a Country Chic in Slate Blue and White. So this is what I came up with. You can see inside the box from all sides except the bottom. The lid is attached to the box and just lifts up. Now all I have to do is the category dividers. I'll post pictures of them when I finish them. Future projects I'll be posting will be long envelope mini albums with a "twist", steampunk charms, and one more "rockin" recipe box! Just waiting for my supplies to get in!!!!!

New Projects!!!

How beautiful would this tag be attached to that special gift? Or as a Christmas ornament hanging from your tree? Or just something small to dress up your desk or corkboard? This tag I "threw" together to show a friend how to use different techniques and mediums. For the actual tag I used Reynolds Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil, embossed it with a texture fade folder, and applied alcohol inks. I made the flower from a scrap piece of fabric, popped it up on pop dots, stuck it down, and added Gold Stickle dots. Added some Italian lace on the bottom and embellished from my left over stash from other projects. On the back You have room for journaling/message and embellished with Prima flowers and more Italian lace and trim.

I just love Prima flowers but sometimes they're just to expensive!!!!! So I decided to start playing around and make my own. Still in the process of getting just right but here is what I have come up with so far!!!

And for the last project for tonight...... I'm making my daughter Zoe a scrapbook to give to her on her birthday. Every time she sees me scrappin she always asks, "Mommy are you making a book for me?" I've made mini albums but they are for the whole family. So this one is just for her!! I choose DCWV's A Colorful Life because the colors are just so vibrant and beautiful just like her. The album will have six pages plus the front and back cover.

Hope you guys like what you see and I'll post more soon. TTFN!!!!!!

Here I go!!!!

So many people have asked me if I have a blog, or they tell me that I should start one for all the crafting that I do. So................Here I go! I don't know how this will work out, as I'm not that computer savvy. But I will try my best!  I must say that we have a love/hate relationship! I hope to all the future viewers that you enjoy what you are seeing and that in some way I can inspire you! I'll be posting some picture soon of the "stuff" I've been working on!
